Holistic Dermatology for Kids

We love helping kids feel better.

As a mom of two kids, I know how hard it can be to find trusted, natural solutions for your child’s health. Herbs can be remarkably supportive for pediatric skin conditions, like eczema and warts. Our pediatric program for holistic dermatology is very similar to our program for adults.

Our holistic dermatology sessions use a threefold approach:

  1. Internal herbal formulas addressing the root causes of inflammation

  2. Topical applications to clear the skin’s current manifestation

  3. Nutrition/lifestyle support

How it works

Initial Consultation

Come in for an initial consultation. We will discuss your child’s skin history and whole body health, including digestion and sleep patterns. Skin’s health is impacted by a variety of body systems, so I want to know as much as possible about your child. We will also discuss their diet and lifestyle considerations. So many people with challenging skin conditions eliminate lots of foods from their diet, and my goal is for your child to eat as widely as possible.

Herbal Formula

If I think your child’s condition is a good match for herbal medicine, I’ll prepare an herbal formula for you.

While helping children with herbs, the most important aspect is taste. I like to offer children herbs as glycerin-based tinctures or syrups.

For infants, herbs are administered as baths, and I rarely give herbs internally.

Topical Formula

You’ll also receive topical herbal applications, if necessary. Kids absorb herbs very well through their skin, and topical formulas can be very supportive. These can vary in price per month depending on your condition, and I can work within your budget to find something suitable.

Follow-Up Visit

Generally speaking, children heal quickly. Follow-ups are scheduled every 1-2 weeks.

Cost

Herbal medicine ranges greatly depending on your child’s condition. For most skin conditions, herbs range from $50-200 per month.

Duration

For most children, the treatment program lasts about 3-6 months, though this can be longer or shorter depending on the severity of their condition. Once their skin is clear, they no longer need to take herbs.

My goal is for your child’s skin to remain healthy and stable long after your treatments have completed.
